Elizabeth Herz, a Global Real Estate Advisor and Associate Broker, has been a resident of the world, yet it’s Manhattan she’s chosen to call home for the past 30 years. For more than 15 of those years, she has negotiated the sale and purchase of a broad range of properties throughout Manhattan on behalf of Sotheby’s International Realty.
From culture to cuisine, Elizabeth shares her personal passion for all this city has to offer in combination with her professional expertise to translate each of her clients’ unique needs into the appropriate Manhattan residence. Her ability to create a comfortable working relationship is clearly recognized and appreciated by her clients. In fact, 90 percent of her clients have worked with Elizabeth on multiple sales and purchases throughout the years, or work with her as a direct result of those clients’ referrals.
As a member of the board of directors for her Manhattan cooperative for 12 years, Elizabeth is uniquely qualified to guide clients through the strict purchasing requirements and applicant evaluation measures for this segment of the market. Fluent in Afrikaans and conversational German and Swiss German, Elizabeth works closely with many international clients.
Elizabeth graduated with a degree in education from Pretoria Normal College in South Africa and taught at the International School in Zurich, Switzerland. Elizabeth, who raised two daughters in Manhattan, is personally knowledgeable about the various programs offered by area schools. As a member of the PTA of the Dalton School, she spearheaded the then-groundbreaking healthy food initiative.
This quintessential New Yorker continues to enjoy the many cultural opportunities afforded by living in Manhattan as a member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art. To satisfy her epicurean interests, Elizabeth formed the FORKS ON FIFTH dining club, and assisted at the renowned Greenwich Village cooking school, A la Bonne Cocotte.
She is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York.
