Christian Emanuel is a Licensed Salesperson with Sotheby’s International Realty.
While focusing on Documentary Film and studying for his Film and TV degree at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Christian developed a keen interest in New York City history, specifically the history of housing and real estate development.
His passion for the city’s history never left him. Christian's constant study of how New York became what it is today means that his clients are able to tap into his practical and historical knowledge. “I tell my clients that it’s crucial for them to understand when and why a building was built, who built it, and what that means for them in this moment," he notes. The answers to these questions are empowering for his clients and give him an edge over the competition.
Christian brings a high degree of specificity to key aspects to home searches and sales, including comparable analyses and valuations, historic research, property provenance, as well as tailored advertising and marketing strategy. At Sotheby’s International Realty, Christian works in a strategic partnership with Stan Ponte, a 20-year veteran of the Manhattan brokerage community and fellow graduate of NYU's Tisch School.
Outside of his real estate sales work, Christian is active in New York’s outspoken Historic Preservation community. He has successfully proposed Individual Landmarks to New York City’s Landmarks Preservation Commission and has worked with elected officials and community groups. He currently serves as a Vice President on Board of Directors of the preeminent citywide grassroots preservation organization, the Historic Districts Council, which was founded in 1970.
Christian is perhaps most proud of his status as a shareholder in Green Bay Packers, Inc., the publicly held non-profit organization which owns and operates the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. When asked what his favorite building is, his response may not surprise you, “Without a doubt, Lambeau Field."
