Mike Day added “Realtor” to his list of achievements after many years of success as an executive and business owner in the management consulting and energy industries. Mike lived and worked virtually everywhere in the world: Singapore, Australia, India, Egypt, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, and nearly every country in Europe and North America. He is uniquely qualified to assist clients in an international business hub like Houston, where his background and experience position him to understand the financial, logistical and sensitive issues faced by expats as well as cultural factors that determine their lifestyle and home choices.
As an experienced real estate professional, Mike assists clients who are selling or purchasing in the resale home market, buying new construction, or starting with a lot and designing their own custom residence. He is well acquainted with families relocating, buying their first home, or undergoing a transition. Mike states. “I define superior customer service as ‘doing what the other guy can’t or won’t’ – and that establishes the bar for commitment to my clients. My attention to confidentiality, ethical negotiation, and accurate product representation gives clients absolute confidence in my service.”
His ties in the energy industry run deep, making Energy Corridor neighborhoods a major focus. He is also conversant with neighborhoods throughout his home base for many years, Fort Bend County. “I bring a wealth of personal knowledge about neighborhoods all over the Houston area that includes schools, churches, civic organizations, entertainment, sports, dining, and commuting options.”
Mike provides clients with a comprehensive study of market conditions to help them reach a price that realizes their desired outcome. He negotiates sales transactions with the utmost honesty and integrity and continues exemplary service through closing and beyond. “I thrive on the passionate aspects of real estate,” Mike says. “It is a business transaction, but it’s also fun to be part of my clients’ enthusiasm. It’s never just dollars and cents in real estate.”
Mike grew up in Maryland, received a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Maryland and a MBA from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He spent 12 years as an economic and financial consultant at Ernst & Young, six years with Louis Dreyfus Energy Trading and Duke Energy as a risk management executive, and five years as a business owner in the energy industry. He and his wife, empty nesters with two adult sons, enjoy sailing, hiking, and participating in community and church events. They spend several weekends each year leading their church’s Catholic Engaged Encounter retreat for couples.
