A family history in building and development led Rick and Kim Slater to the real estate business. Located in East Hampton, the husband-and-wife duo has been developing properties, from planning to final construction, on the East End since 1986. Today, they are known as one of Sotheby’s International Realty’s top performing teams. Lifelong locals, with family roots in the business stretching back to 1957, the Slaters know the Hamptons well. “We drive off the knowledge we have learned from our history in residential design and building,” Rick says.
“The strategies and formulas for marketing and pricing are derived from our
experiences in the eastern hamlets, where we have lived all our lives.” Staying educated on local codes and regulations in the jurisdictions in which they sell, the Slaters bring an all-encompassing knowledge of local real estate trends and market conditions to every client meeting. “The Hamptons’ real estate market may have similarities to other northeastern beach communities, but it stands in a class of its own,” Kim says. “Our client base has no geographical borders. Our customers arrive from all points of the world. They are intelligent, sophisticated buyers who understand the ‘aura’ of the Hamptons’ market.”
