Tom Raffo began his career in real estate right out of college. He graduated with a double major in English and Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, New Jersey. Tom always had a passion for real estate from the time he was a young man. His great grandfather opened a real estate company in Locust Valley, NY in 1928 and had a long and successful business up until his death in 1965. Tom has the same passion for real estate and began his career right out of college in the management division of Co-ops and Condos at Douglas Elliman, Gibbons and Ives, a blue chip real estate firm in Manhattan. Transitioning a few years later from management to sales was a natural progression considering his keen eye and his natural ability to find the right property for the right buyer. By the time he was in his mid 20s he was selling multi-million dollar apartments in buildings such as The San Remo, The Majestic and The Beresford, among others throughout Manhattan.
Tom developed the loyalty and trust of celebrity clients and could be seen around Manhattan squiring the likes of Richard Gere, Al Pacino, Cindy Crawford, Steve Martin, among others. A rising star in the Manhattan real estate world, he also had a passion to explore development opportunities in the Hamptons. Tom embarked on his first venture, which was quite a large undertaking, building a 6,000 sq. ft. house on spec on one of the highest points in Southampton. The property and house offered 360-degree sweeping views from the Atlantic to the Peconic Bay and beyond. Tom's vision paid off as he was very proud when Alan (Ace) Greenberg, former chairman of Bear Stearns, bought the house. After such a successful first project, in 1996, Tom decided to move out to the Hamptons full-time to concentrate on building more homes and selling real estate for Alan Schneider & Associates. A few years later, Tom was hired by Sothebys' International Realty which proved to be a good match for both. Tom has participated in many multi-million dollar deals as well as selling to first-time buyers. This unique experience of having a background in building and development as well as a keen knowledge of the Hamptons real estate market makes Tom a natural to hire whether selling, buying or building.
