Cindy Volper’s formula for life is “real estate + great food = joy.” Cindy believes if you immerse yourself in your passions, you will not only find joy but also be successful. She has been doing just that in her business career for over 37 years.
Cindy has always had an innate sense of what it takes to be successful in business. Her approach to real estate is to advise her clients throughout the process, to act as a consultant and provider of services, to bring about a smooth transaction, and to always take the time to know and understand her clients’ goals. To accomplish this, she brings years of unique marketing ideas, creative negotiation skills, the ability to see the big picture, and the wisdom to pay very close attention to the details.
Cindy’s path as an entrepreneur has been diverse and unique. Her food passion blossomed in Santa Fe while working at the Periscope restaurant with her beloved mentors Joe and Shirley Pisacane. To further her food education, she attended The Culinary Institute of America in upstate New York. Upon graduation, she landed the coveted job of Executive Chef to Mayor Ed Koch of New York City, feeding 20-400 people at a moment’s notice. Next, she opened “Collage” restaurant on the Upper East Side, where she happily fed a variety of city characters.
Missing New Mexico, Cindy headed west for a chance to work at SantaCafe with Jim Bibbo before starting her wholesale gourmet cookie company, Cindy’s Santa Fe Bite-Size Bakery. She began with one employee and sold door-to-door. Nine years later, she had 30 employees and worldwide sales.
Two years later, her family moved to British Columbia, where Cindy joined Royal LePage Realty and created an online vacation rental company: saltspringdreamvacation.com. Once again, New Mexico called her back.
Cindy joyfully resides in the Abiquiu area of New Mexico, in an 1840 adobe farmhouse. To view her blog, visit: santaferealestatefoodie.com.
