As a third generation Angelino and having lived in the Hollywood area for over 30 years, it has always been a passion of Brett Kester to help people and give back to his community.
When Brett was growing up, he had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the real estate business from his mother who was a realtor and developer. After school, Brett would stop by her office and hang out. One of his favorite things to do was read the Multiple Listing Service Directory and all the listings and descriptions of the homes. This really fascinated him; he wanted to be like his mother and aspired to be a builder and a realtor. Brett’s mother built several shopping centers and subdivided the family horse ranch into a housing development. Brett still has family members that are in residential construction.
Brett started my career in real estate at Sotheby’s International Realty in Beverly Hills back in 2001. Working with one of the top realtors, Brett was exposed to some of the most challenging aspects of this business from the start. His first day on the job, Brett began with eight escrows and 11 listings. It was challenging, but Brett was prepared. After one year with this agent and over 30 million in transactions under his belt, Brett moved to his own desk to begin his new business.
During the recession, Brett returned to college to complete his B.S. in Business Management so he could provide a higher level of service to his clients. Upon completing his B.S, Brett returned to real estate at Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services where he learned how to underwrite multi-family homes and commercial real estate.
Brett recently returned to Sotheby’s International Real Estate after a battle with cancer with a new commitment to his community and himself to help create a better place to live for all.
