1720 Braeburn Rd
Designed by noted architect Harold J. Bissner in 1928 for L.Albert and Nell Fairfax Baker of Minneapolis, this Spanish Colonial Revival home is considered to be one of the finest examples of the architect's work. A curving decorative tiled staircase greets you upon entering the home. Beyond the entry hall sits the step down living room with a 14.7ft soaring trussed wood beam ceiling, one of the grandest features of the house. Varying ceiling heights and finishes throughout the home create a European ambiance that fluctuates from formal to intimate as one moves from room to room. Details include vintage tile, ironwork, wood, arches and lighting. A new kitchen was added in 2006 and offers modern conveniences with top end appliances while retaining the original flavor of the house through the use of custom revival tile and a wood beamed ceiling. A walled exterior courtyard, separate walled pool area and east facing terrace offer multiple outdoor spaces for entertaining.
