Born and educated in London, Ruscha studied photography, fine art, literature and performing arts before moving to Beverly Hills. There, she authenticated, appraised and sold world-class jewelry collections before segueing into the advertising and entertainment industries as a photography producer working with major international corporations and television networks.

Arriving in Santa Barbara in 1993, Ruscha moved into property management. Quickly recognizing her eye for superior properties, complemented by an affinity for matching them with the right clients, she became a realtor. Punctuating her success in the profession, she recently earned the coveted Howard Gates Award, honoring its recipient's "proficiency, skill, ingenuity, originality, thoroughness and ability to bring the transaction to fruition." In addition, the award states: "Emphasis is given to the agent's ethics and his/her understanding and practices of real estate." The award's criteria also requires that an extremely difficult transaction wouldn't have been completed without the skill and determination of the agent.
