Tamara Behan joined Sotheby’s International Realty in 2015 as a licensed Real Estate Salesperson, working with top producing Senior Global Real Estate Advisor Pauline Evans.
Tamara is an accomplished marketing, advertising and media expert. After starting her career at Ogilvy & Mather, she carved her own path with one of the largest media companies in the world, Time Inc., eventually named as the first European Fashion Director for InStyle Magazine. While working with the top luxury European and Domestic fashion companies, Tamara crafted and oversaw branded sponsored content and advertising campaigns.
Tamara left InStyle to begin luxury brand consulting and was integral in the “web-lift” of a Fifth Avenue plastic surgeon. After an extended interior design project, her move into real estate sales was a natural next step.
Tamara’s experience working with clients for over twenty years has offered a keen ability in prospecting, closing sales and achieving goals while delivering one on one customer service. Having worked in media, Tamara recognizes the international service that Sotheby's International Realty provides clients as well as the multi-tiered platforms utilized to promote properties all over the world. Cool under pressure and a solid negotiator, she ensures a smooth transition in every aspect of the transaction. Whether it is selling your home or helping find a new home, she stops at nothing to assist with every aspect of your move - understanding that details make or break an experience.
An alumnus of Syracuse University, Tamara has lived in Carnegie Hill with her son and their dachshund since 2000. Her childhood in nearby Westchester and Fairfield counties make her an excellent resource when considering every option from a rental, pied-à-terre, family apartment in Manhattan or relocation to the nearby suburbs. She is a member of REBNY as well as a volunteer for the Ellen Hermanson Foundation, the American Cancer Society, and the Children’s Aid Society.
