Following corporate marketing careers at Canon and Ernst & Young, the launch of the original Menupages and several successful startups, Jeff joined the real estate industry to combine his loves for New York City, real estate and architecture. This passion shows: in his first year, he became the top producer in his office.
Jeff joined Sotheby's International Realty to accommodate the increasingly global nature of his client base. He remains committed to the needs of his diverse range of clients, whether a relocating CEO looking for a penthouse with Central Park views, an overseas purchaser seeking a reliable investment return or a new-hire in a tech startup looking to rent his first studio.
For more than a decade, Jeff served on the board of directors of his Noho co-op. As president for six of those years, he implemented a refinancing and new revenue sources to fund the most extensive upgrade of building systems in the co-op's history. He also evaluated dozens of applications, giving him unique insights into both finding the most qualified buyers for his sellers and preparing the strongest board packages for his buyers.
Jeff is known for his trustworthy advice, knack for numbers and skill at finding, evaluating and negotiating a deal. These qualities make him the go-to person even for fellow agents. When a retiring broker sought to sell her own Gramercy Park apartment after 25 years, she called upon Jeff, who implemented an innovative marketing campaign and sold her apartment for substantially more than the price at which she intended to list it. Similarly, when an overseas client decided to purchase an investment property near Columbus Circle sight unseen, she knew she could rely on Jeff to find the perfect property with immediate rental income to boot. The common thread to these transactions is Jeff's willingness to listen carefully and work diligently to meet his client's requirements.
Jeff is particularly drawn to New York properties with classic architectural details, unconventional layouts or unusual outdoor space. He has been successful in getting properties featured in The New York Times and other publications and has enthusiastically embraced new media to expand the traditional audience for properties he represents. The exposure pays off: his most recent East Village loft sale secured the highest price realized in the history of the building.
Jeff obtained his MBA from New York University in marketing and management with a minor in international business. Many of his clients and customers come from within the NYU and entrepreneurial communities, comprising CEOs, celebrities, respected doctors and best-selling authors. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys working out, cooking, songwriting and hatching new product ideas. He has traveled throughout Asia, Europe and Latin America, giving him a global perspective, while continually reinforcing his belief that New York City remains the most vibrant city in the world.
