Meredyth Smith graduated from Amherst College with honors in Art History and English, and prior to her career in real estate, she worked in the art world first at Christie's and then as Co-Director of a Madison Avenue art gallery.
Meredyth has been at Sotheby's International Realty for 20 years. She is an Associate Broker and one of the company's few Senior Vice Presidents. Her performance as a producer has been consistently in the top percentile of all the brokers at Sotheby's International Realty, regardless of the swings in the marketplace. Recently, The Wall Street Journal ranked her as the 18th top-grossing residential real estate broker in America.
She sells co-ops, condos and townhouses and covers a broad range of properties in Manhattan's residential market. Meredyth specializes in the upper end of the market and has set the record for the highest co-operative penthouse sale on upper Fifth Avenue for $20,000,000, also achieving the highest price per square foot for a Fifth Avenue condominium that sold for $21,500,000. Other significant sales include selling a Park Avenue duplex for $21,000,000 and a Fifth Avenue apartment for $20,000,000. She also has the distinction of being the broker to achieve record high prices for Manhattan townhouses, including sales of $31,500,000 and $45,000,000. Recently, Meredyth sold for $25,000,000 an apartment at The Pierre Hotel, which is a record for that building. Selling for over $8,000 per square foot, this transaction sets a landmark for highest price per square foot ever sold for all of Manhattan.
Meredyth Smith's clientele is quite varied and includes affluent New York families, the Wall Street/financial community, Europeans, corporations and a celebrity quotient.
