Clifford E. Katz

Clifford Katz brings to Sotheby’s International Realty more than 20 years of experience representing clients in a broad range of sophisticated transactional and advisory assignments. With an emphasis on single-family townhouses, brokerage assignments have varied from site assemblage and design-development to new construction. Core clients include affluent families, investors, not-for-profit and government entities, and real estate developers. Prior to joining Sotheby’s International Realty, Clifford was the founder and president of Mobius Realty Holdings LLC, a prominent Manhattan townhouse brokerage boutique founded in 1999.

Clifford began his career in 1987 as a practicing real estate attorney in Manhattan, and has extensive experience in every aspect of the townhouse, condominium and co-op marketplace. Most of the time, Clifford represents owners selling properties, and provides strategic guidance regarding New York City real estate property valuation, rentals, occupancy, zoning and building code issues relevant to the long-term positioning of properties, to ensure maximum resale value.

Prior to founding Mobius Realty, Clifford established the rental division of a 100-year-old luxury residential sales brokerage firm, where he was responsible for firm-wide recruiting, training and staff management. Core clients included corporate executives, principals in privately held and publicly traded companies, and prominent sports and entertainment figures.

Clifford is a cum laude graduate of Bowdoin College and holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley, Haas School of Business, and a JD from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University.
