Swatt Architects Designed Residence
The charming town of San Anselmo, Marin County, lies in the shadow of its impressive landmark, the Theological Seminary. It offers a variety of convenient stores, boutiques, antique dealers & restaurants. The community offers good schools, & many volunteer programs. On over two acres of majestic oak trees, this 4-bedroom modern residence was designed by Swatt Architects. About 1 mile from downtown, the property borders open space & has easy access to Mt Baldy trails. The landscape is an integral part of the architectural composition. Bob Swatt, who has a good eye for light & composition, built a house “to reach an indoor/outdoor Ca. ideal”. It features dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows which connect you with the serene grounds & generate superb light. A mix of old growth salvaged redwood sidings & soffits, architecturally designed concrete, continuity in design throughout, a dramatic entry & its orientation towards panoramic views set the tone of the house.
