Whiz Lindsey graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a teaching credential in elementary education in 1968. She moved to the Monterey Peninsula and taught school for six years. She was actively involved with the Junior League of the Monterey Peninsula and was instrumental in starting the Salinas Valley Lyceum.

She started her own business, Innovative Interiors, in 1978 and as an interior designer sold home furnishings and consulted with clients on their decorating needs. She stopped for a few years to raise her children. When re-entering the work place, she worked in sales. She joined The Mitchell Group, now Sotheby's International Realty, as a licensed realtor and has been working with clients in buying and selling their homes. Clients describe her as energetic and hardworking, someone they call first and upon whom they can depend.

Whiz has raised her family for the past 30 years while living on the Monterey Peninsula. She is married to Bruce Lindsey, attorney-at-law, and they have three children, Ellen, Jim and Chris. Ellen graduated from Santa Catalina School and attended Georgetown University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is married, living in Richmond, Virginia and working at the Medical College of Virginia in their Burn Unit. Jim and Chris just graduated from Robert Louis Stevenson School and are currently attending college, one in mechanical engineering at UC Berkeley and one in business at USC.

Whiz was actively involved this past year with the Senior Cruise, a Sober Grad Night party for seniors at Robert Louis Stevenson School. She is also active with the Monterey Bay Area Boy Scouts, helping train Cub Scout and scout leaders, and she is also a board member. Although she still runs three miles every morning with her sidekick, Shasta, a black lab, she has put her tennis racquet aside and is learning to play golf at MPCC.
