"Skip" Marquard has been actively involved in real estate marketing in the Carmel Valley since 1963 and has been a licensed real estate broker since 1967. Skip is a 3rd-generation realtor and served as the managing partner of the family firm, which was founded in 1926, until the brokerage was sold to The Mitchell Group in 1996.

Skip has listed and/or sold some of the Monterey Peninsula's most historic properties, including the late Stuyvesant Fish's Palo Corona Ranch, Peter Marble's Rancho Tularcitos, Double H Ranch of the late Charles Crocker Russell (now Stone Pine Resort), Los Laureles Lodge, and a full spectrum of homes and home sites.

In addition to the real estate brokerage, he has participated in numerous Carmel Valley developments, including Sleepy Hollow Subdivision, Porter Marquard Ranch, Mid Valley Garden Apartments, and Rancho Del Monte No. 14 for the late William May Garland. He is also an owner and co-manager for retail commercial properties.

Skip attended the University of California-Berkeley, majoring in Business Administration. He served in the United States Army Security Agency. He is also a licensed private pilot.

Skip's community participation includes serving as co-founder of the Mid-Carmel Valley Fire Protection District, and he served as its Board President for nine years. He is a founding director of the Big Sur International Marathon, former head Track Coach of Carmel High School, and is the track announcer for Carmel High and the League Championships. Skip is a past President of the Carmel Board of Realtors and the Carmel Valley Chamber of Commerce.
