John McCord grew up on the beaches of Southern California. In 1978, he sailed his Islander sloop north and ultimately tossed anchor in Stillwater Cove next to the legendary 18th fairway at Pebble Beach. He's been here ever since.
John began his real estate career in 1998 with The Mitchell Group, the largest independent firm on the peninsula. In 2005, Sotheby's International Realty acquired The Mitchell Group and in the process, gained John's negotiating expertise, marketing prowess and the customer service standards that have helped him develop a strong network of loyal clients.
John was among the top four producing agents in 2006 for Sotheby's International Realty's Carmel office. He specializes in relocation services for an international company as well as attending to his referred and longtime clients.
Prior to his real estate career, John managed full-service hotels in both Monterey and Carmel Valley. However, real estate has always been in his blood. He renovated a cabin on the cliffs of Big Sur, as much for the indescribable view as for the opportunity to drive golf balls into the Pacific Ocean.
In 2006 John earned his designation as a Certified Residential Specialist, a title fewer than 4% of agents nationwide obtain. In 2007, John earned his California Broker's license. John is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors and the Monterey County Association of Realtors and a past board member of the Carmel Valley Chamber of Commerce.
John co-founded SAFENET, a non-profit organization created to assist those harmed by clergy sexual abuse.
