Andrew Gates grew up in the Salisbury area and attended Indian Mountain School and the Salisbury School. After prep school he spent time living in New York City and graduated from Fordham University. During his college years, Andrew traveled widely in Africa, Europe and North America while spending summers working with children at risk from Boston's inner city neighborhoods. Following his time in New York he worked in sales and marketing for a number of high-profile technology companies, including Outpost.com in Kent, CT, where he was instrumental in building the company's multi-million dollar affiliate network. Andrew became involved in real estate in early 2001, working for a leading local agency before joining the core group of the Sotheby's International Realty Salisbury brokerage in 2004. Andrew has leveraged his local background and intimate knowledge of the area's people and places into a successful real estate career. Significant sales include the highest residential sale in Millerton, NY for 2004, side by side direct waterfront properties on Twin Lakes in Salisbury, Furnace Brook Farm in Cornwall, and the divestiture of the lots of the former Linden Hill Farm on Wells Hill Road in Lakeville. Active in regional affairs, he sits on the Tri-State Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is a partner in Little Gates & Co. Wine Merchants located in Millerton, NY.
