Seita Jongebloed joined Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty in January 2015 as Sales Manager, bringing a unique blend of brokerage management expertise, insight gained from her 20+ years as a real estate lawyer, and invaluable experience serving on HAR Advisory Boards.
Jongebloed began her career as an associate attorney with a boutique law firm, Hargis & Harpold, which focused on representation of real estate brokers across Texas. As defense counsel, she became well-versed in "best practices" for limiting brokers' risk. The firm also served as outside counsel for HAR, providing a behind-the-scenes view of Realtor ethical duties, cooperative compensation rules, and dispute resolution procedures. She also developed contract drafting and communication skills from her longtime mentor, Dick Hargis.
Most recently, Jongebloed spent over ten years as General Counsel of a major local brokerage firm. Her favorite part of the job was collaborating with agents to resolve issues and achieve win-win results for clients. She provided regular professional development and risk management guidance for both seasoned and new agents. As part of the management team, she worked closely with the owners and sales managers to further the growth of the company. Jongebloed was instrumental in the adoption of new processes and technologies to improve agents' productivity.
Along with her husband, three children, and extended family, Jongebloed enjoys snow skiing, boating, and travel. She volunteers with her children's schools, her church, the Houston Association of Realtors and with various animal rescue groups.
