For Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty Circle of Excellence member Joan Holcombe, there is no higher compliment than a referral from current or former clients. Recognized among Houston’s top producers, Joan specializes in traditional neighborhoods from the Museum District/Southampton and West University areas to River Oaks, Bellaire, Braeswood, the Heights and the close-in Memorial area.
A Realtor since 1998, Joan has successfully closed more than 200 transactions totaling over $80 million. Joan holds a sincere dedication to all of her clients’ real estate goals and provides the same excellent service in every transaction, regardless of price point. From finding the “perfect home” or the “perfect buyers” up to and beyond the closing, her confident, knowledgeable approach and honed negotiation skills reassure clients should problems arise and assure a smooth transition.
“Helping clients find the right home that they will love and be happy in is one of the things I love most about my job,” says Joan. “Listening, communicating, always being available, educating clients to the market and showing them their options are so important. My clients trust me to have their best interests at heart and I treasure the on-going friendships that come from working so closely with people in what can sometimes be a stressful and emotional time in their lives.”
The imagination and eye for detail Joan has developed as an artist working in oil painting and bronze sculpture enhance her practice of real estate. She has been represented in galleries in Houston, Dallas, Denver, Palm Desert, and several in Wyoming, and her works are held in private and public collections around the country.
Joan attended Southern Methodist University and graduated cum laude from the University of Houston with a double major in psychology and home economics. She supports several Houston charitable, civic and social organizations including The Art League of Houston, Homeless Pet Placement League and the Houston SPCA. Long-time River Oaks residents, Joan and her husband are 25 year-plus members of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and have two adult children. Their son works as a financial advisor and their daughter works for Walt Disney World as a college recruiter.
