Mary Craddock

Real estate is a passion for Mary Cooley Craddock. Mary serves her clients with hard work, commitment and discretion, providing market information and financial strategies to help them make a wise home purchase. She listens hard to understand her clients’ needs and desires. Mary knows that purchasing a house is a major investment and works with intelligence and integrity to make the process easy. She is equally comfortable helping a first-home buyer or an established person downsizing to a more manageable dwelling, and makes the transition easier by providing information on schools, neighborhoods, and amenities.

Mary's family are long-time Houstonians. Her great uncle founded the Houston Heights and Mary grew up in Boulevard Oaks and River Oaks. Hers is a first-hand understanding of Houston’s most sought after neighborhoods including River Oaks, West University, and Tanglewood. Mary is familiar with most parts of the city and has witnessed the evolution of many of its up-and-coming neighborhoods.

Valedictorian of her class at Mirabeau B. Lamar High School, Mary graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Texas at Austin and was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. During college, she lived in Madrid, Spain where she became a fluent Spanish speaker. Mary earned a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD., and worked for the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN., as a medical illustrator. She returned to Houston in 1979.

Mary is a commissioned artist whose work has been shown by local galleries. She believes in contributing to the community and has served on several boards including Communities in Schools, Young Audiences, Kid’s Hope, Phi Beta Kappa Alumni, and others. She is a member of the Garden Club of Houston, The Junior League of Houston (sustaining), and St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. Her six children attended St. John's School and Mary spent many hours as a substitute teacher and volunteer.

Although very busy with her real estate career, Mary enjoys spending time with her large family and friends. She plays tennis and golf and loves reading, painting and exercising at the Houstonian Club. Mary and her husband like to travel when they can find time.
