Realtor Jacqueline Clarke’s remarkable life has equipped her with an exceptional set of life and work skills that enhance all facets of her real estate career and enable her to relate to clients not only professionally but personally.
Born in Hungary and raised in West Germany, Jacqueline discovered an early affinity for languages and soon became a translator for her non-German speaking mother. She finished high school in Germany and immigrated to the United States where she worked in the New York City area as an au pair and learned English. Jacqueline relocated to Los Angeles where she worked at MGM studios and took night classes at the local community college. She relocated again to study at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, and completed her degree in international business and finance.
Prior to choosing her career in residential real estate, Jacqueline worked in the securities industry, developing and honing superb sales, negotiation, and interpersonal skills – valuable assets for a Realtor. She later worked as the bookkeeper in her husband’s business and handled the payroll, taxes and billing.
Augmenting her professional skill set, Jacqueline’s immigrant background, confident command of Hungarian, German and English, competency in Spanish, and numerous moves make her empathetic to clients and their families in the throws of relocating to a new city or country. She likes to say that she is a “cultural chameleon” who can relate to anyone. A self-motivated go-getter, Jacqueline’s strong work ethic helps her focus on achieving her clients’ goals, and she often sees possibilities in a situation that others may overlook. She is a self-described good listener who is honest, compassionate, patient and trustworthy, and says, “I believe you are only as good as your word.”
Jacqueline met her husband, a native Houstonian, at college. They moved to Houston in 1999 and reside with their young daughter, a student at Annunciation Orthodox School, in Southside Place. She supports a number of civic organizations including the Greater Houston Partnership, Houston World Affairs Council, Houston Relocation Council, the German-American Chamber of Commerce, Rice Design Alliance, and Toastmasters International.
