Real estate professionals sell Hamptons Topping Farm

Considered one of the most enviable properties in the Hamptons, Topping Farm was recently sold by local Sotheby’s International Realty real estate professionals. This property features two homes, including the original 17th-century farmhouse with five fireplaces and original hand-hewn beams. Additionally, the new owner might enjoy the 21-stall horse barn and accessory buildings.

Real estate in the Hamptons often features exquisite designs and features, and the aforementioned property is no exception. Combined, the homes in this estate provide a total of 10 bedrooms, 6 baths and 8,000 square feet of living area. Meanwhile, the property also offers spectacular views of Wainscott Pond that extend across the Atlantic Ocean.

"This offering represented a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase a world-class estate with incredible development potential," said Dana Trotter, a local real estate agent. "The property was perfect for the discerning buyer who can imagine the possibilities."

The property was sold in three separate sales over the course of three months, with the final sale ranking among the top three in the Hamptons of the year to date. The most recent piece of the sale was offered at a last asking price of $35 million, and the other two pieces of the sale comprised a total of 3.8 acres and were sold in April 2012. The last asking price for the first two pieces was $5.95 million each or $11.9 million together.

While Topping Farm is no longer on the market, other luxury homes in the Hamptons remain available. In fact, Trotter notes that this successful sale shows that there will always be strong and ongoing demand for waterfront properties in the Hamptons due to their desirable locations and breathtaking views.
