Inland Empire

Ontario, Riverside and San Bernardino are thriving urban centers in one of the fastest-growing areas of California. The Inland Empire is projected to remain California's fastest-growing region for some time to come. The Inland Empire is a metropolitan area comprising of newly residential, industrial, and commercial development. The "Inland" part of the name is derived from the region's location, about 60 miles inland from Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean. The steady rise in population and the demand for housing has led to a dramatic increase in the building of single-family homes on lots of 1/4 acre or more, as opposed to the construction of high-density development such as multi-story apartment or condominium buildings. Some suburban cities within the Inland Empire include Alta Loma, Chino, Claremont, Montclair, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga and Upland.
