Lisa Bass is a native of East Hampton along with a rich family history settling here in the 1950’s. Her grandparents owned and operated the only French restaurant, named the Chez Labbat, which was located on Main Street next to the movie cinema. It was frequented by deKooning, Pollack, Copote and many other colorful figures that made up the east end in the 1950’s and 60’s. It’s main rival was John Duck’s restaurant, in Southampton. After graduating from the Art Institute of Boston, she furthered her education in fine arts at the School of Visual Arts, graduating with a BA in Fine Arts. While going to school, she pursued a career as a hand model with Ford Models and TRH, now Arcieri and Associates. As one of the top hand models, working both in New York and LA, she has done over 200 commercials world wide, doubled for Julia Roberts in the Pelican Brief and co-authored/published a book with Univers/Rizzoli called, Style on Hand. The modeling career has lasted for almost 20 years and continues. Her clients include: Sally Hansen, Revlon, Sheido, L’Oreal, Perscriptives, Avon, Pepsi, Cannon, Cheseborough Ponds, Lysol, and etc. She is also a member of the Screen Actors Guild. Moving back home in 1992, she began assisting her mother, Michelle Labbat, in real estate. They both moved to Sotheby’s International Realty in 1997 where Lisa continued to be active focusing on high end exclusive sale and rental listings. She met her husband through selling a house to a couple who used Joel for their contractor, Rincon Construction. They now have two beautiful boys and they reside in Southampton (just down the street from John Duck’s restaurant!)
