John McHugh began his real estate career in 2001 and recently joined Sotheby's International Realty as an associate broker. An expert in the luxury market, he has represented numerous high-end properties throughout the Hamptons, including notable oceanfront and land listings. John was the listing agent for a $26 million estate on Meadow Lane, which sold in 2006. In 2007, he listed and sold another prestigious property on Meadow Lane for $35 million, setting a record in Southampton Village for a single and separate lot.

John specializes in high-end properties as well as new construction projects. He is well-informed regarding zoning, wetlands and securing local permits. His broad market knowledge benefits all clients, whether for the purpose of smart investment or buying a family home. The majority of John's business derives from referrals and satisfied repeat customers, which evidences his enthusiasm, discretion and dedication to client-centered service. Prior to establishing his career in real estate, John worked on Wall Street for six years. A New York City native, he grew up on Manhattan's Upper East Side and relocated to the Hamptons eight years ago. He was immediately drawn to the area for its beautiful beaches and relaxed lifestyle that seems a world apart from New York City. An avid golfer with family history in the game, John is extremely familiar with local courses and possesses an insider's knowledge of the Hamptons' world-class golf facilities.

John studied Art History and Sociology while attending Roanoke College in Virginia and formerly resided in both New York City and Aspen, Colorado.
