Located between Malibu and Santa Barbara, Ventura is a comfortable community for many residents. This city provides easy access to the Pacific Ocean and is one of the Golden State's truly pristine settings, and recent real estate data shows houses are selling at higher rates in Ventura.
The Ventura County Star reports that real estate statistics provider DataQuick found that home sales in Ventura and its surrounding communities increased 18 percent from June 2012 to July 2012. DataQuick notes that this trend could be related to growing interest in high-end properties and luxury homes in the area.
"There's certainly an increase in activity and sales are increasing compared to last year," a local real estate agent told the news source. "There are lots of multiple offers out there. It's like a bidding war again."
Sales of properties priced over $800,000 rose 7.2 percent between July 2011 and July 2012, according to the news source. Additionally, the aforementioned expert said that the housing inventory is "really low," which has further increased the demand for homes in Ventura and its neighboring communities.
