A night of music, offered under the stars of Jack London State Park

For Californians, the plays and musicals offered on and off Broadway aren't just a special attraction - they're a faraway dream. When you're living in some of the Golden State's finest luxury real estate, it's easy to be jealous of the wide range of great performances available every single day to New Yorkers. Yet, coming up in the next week is an event so singular that it can't possible be taken for granted: "Broadway Under the Stars," slated to take place at Jack London State Park, will bring Californians some of the best that Broadway has to offer - and under magnificent conditions, too.

This will be the latest iteration of the Transcendence Theatre's critically-acclaimed "Under the Stars" event, which aims to present "an award-winning series of Broadway-inspired concerts that feature incredible talent from the New York and Hollywood stages and screens." It's also the start of the Theatre's 2014 summer season programming, so you can bet they'll be putting their best foot - and their best songs - forward during the "Under the Stars" program.

They'll be doing so by putting a number of musical stars under the literal stars: Adam Halpin (of Broadway's "Glory Days"), Amanda Lehman (of the national tour of "42nd Street") and Amy Miller (also of "42nd Street") will all be showing up to offer their interpretations of classic Broadway standards, as will a coterie of other accomplished actors and actresses.

Of course, there will be much more than just performances under the stars on offer at this event, also known as "One Singular Sensation." The concert itself begins at 7:30 p.m. each night of its run, but beforehand, at 5 p.m., will be a pre-show picnic! The park's "sprawling vineyards" will be loaded with theater-goers sipping on top-shelf wines and preparing for the epic night of entertainment to come, so if you're able to carve out time in your schedule for "Broadway Under the Stars," you're going to want to make sure that you can arrive well before the event actually begins.

VIP tickets are available at the company's official webpage for $125, where premium seats are also available for $75 and general admission tickets for $42. The performances will occur on June 27, 28 and 29 for this week, with encore performances occurring on July 2, 3 and 5 next week.
