Petaluma
Founded in 1836 by General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo of Mexico, and further populated during the gold rush of 1849, Petaluma is one of the oldest cities in California. Petaluma sits at the southern end of the County, conveniently located only 32 miles north of San Francisco. Downtown Petaluma is one of the most well-preserved, historic areas in western America. Petaluma real estate includes a number of Victorian homes and distinguished pre-1906 buildings. With an old classic look, Petaluma has been a favorite location for several movies set in the mid 20th century.
