Santa Ynez Valley Historical Museum offers tequila tasting and tapas

The Santa Ynez Valley Historical Museum & Parks-Janeway Carriage House provides a glimpse into the history of the area. Patrons can enjoy the museum's collections, exhibits and educational resources, and might also appreciate the institution's tequila and tapas.

On September 8, 2012, this museum will host its second annual "tasting" event, which allows Santa Ynez residents to learn about the various characteristics of premium tequila from the renowned Patron Spirits Company. Enjoy the subtle features of Patron's 100 percent agave tequilas with tastes of smooth Anejo, Reposado and Silver varieties and "taco tapas" at the event.

Visitors will also have the chance to sample Patron's Ultimat Vodka - a handcrafted specialty that contains a blend of potato, rye and wheat vodkas - at the event. This spirit is bottled and triple distilled in Poland, and is appreciated by vodka aficionados for its clean, smooth and sophisticated flavor.

Tapas that include shrimp served with tequila infused cocktail sauce - Yuppie Crack from Avant - deliver an excellent complement to the museum's beverage offerings. Meanwhile, you can finish your sampling with dessert like chipotle-spiced caramel nut chocolate or sea salted chocolates.

All proceeds from the tasting will benefit the Santa Ynez Valley Historical Society. Check out the ultimate flavors of the area with a trip to this event, conveniently located only minutes from many Santa Ynez luxury homes
