Santa Fe luxury property sales strong in second quarter

Santa Fe is the second oldest town in the United States, and high-end properties on the market in this community have been selling at a strong pace lately.

According to The Daily Transcript, a local real estate expert recently identified Santa Fe as one of several markets in which luxury houses are selling at higher-than-average rates. In fact, this community and others in the area saw a 2.5 percent increase in high-end home sales between the second quarters of 2011 and 2012.

"The luxury home market continued to improve in the second quarter, with some neighborhoods experiencing strong price appreciation and accelerating interest from homebuyers," the expert told the news source.

While many newcomers are drawn to the city's luxury homes, new businesses have also shown a willingness to relocate to Santa Fe.

For example, Narasopa Media, a full-service internet marketing and web design consulting company, announced it will move its operations to New Mexico's capital. Narasopa Media is a 12-year-old company that has served large organizations including Netflix, Starbucks and Verizon, and has helped at least four businesses go from zero revenue to over $1 million in less than one year.
