Matthew Sargent is a fifth generation native Santa Fean. A portion of his family history includes both great-grandfathers having been mayors of Santa Fe as well as an aunt who was the first female Appellate Court judge in New Mexico. Having arrived in New Mexico in the 1850s, the Sargent family had diverse interests from ranching in Northern New Mexico to being hotel proprietors in Santa Fe. Matthew descends from a long line of real estate professionals including his father, Wally Sargent, who founded a substantial real estate company in Santa Fe. Matthew's strong work ethic, his professionalism, enthusiasm and in-depth knowledge of Santa Fe real estate are strengths that have set him apart and made him a top-producing broker.
Matthew spent a semester studying abroad and immersing himself in the Swiss-Italian culture at Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland. He completed his bachelor's degree and graduated Suma Cum Laude from Fort Lewis College. Matthew returned to Santa Fe where he decided to follow the success of his family in the real estate industry.
Matthew has been a top-producing, award-winning broker since he first started his real estate practice in 1998. He has brokered hundreds of sales transactions in excess of $120 million in sales volume. He specializes in the Historic Eastside, Northeast Hills and Tesuque areas and has been a member of the Luxury Marketing Group for several years.
His strengths as a real estate broker are his intimate knowledge of Santa Fe real estate, experience, honesty and integrity, with a driven dedication to customer service. The Sargent family has been deeply involved in the development of Santa Fe for decades and instrumental in real estate sales for over 50 years.
