Tai Bixby
Tai Bixby has lived in Santa Fe for 25 years, during which time he has cultivated numerous key relationships in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. He brings a diverse background of business experience to his real estate practice, including six years in real estate brokerage and real estate investment management. He has brokered both residential and commercial transactions, 1031 tax-deferred exchanges, tenant-in-common syndications, private equity investment and commercial leases for both landlords and tenants. He is a founding partner of an important traditional neighborhood development in Santa Fe's community college district, a project for which he was instrumental in coordinating the financing, entitlement and construction. Tai also owns and trades investment real estate on his own account.
His endeavors prior to real estate include four years as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, two years in CAD landscape drafting and terrain modeling, eight years as an industrial designer for a Santa Fe business that transforms recycled glass into a variety of foamed glass products and six years as a board member and project manager for a rainforest preservation non-profit in Brazil.
Tai's functional capabilities include real estate sales and marketing, development feasibility analysis, proforma financial modeling, investment analysis and cash flow modeling based on the CCIM toolset, project management, market research, corporate intelligence, graphic design, CAD drafting and graphic design. He is fluent in Portuguese, speaks basic Spanish and maintains a network of professional relationships in Brazil, Portugal and Mexico.
Tai has been a member of the national, state and local associations of Realtors since 2004 and is also a member of the Urban Land Institute and the Certified Commercial Investment Manager Institute for Commercial Real Estate. In his free time he enjoys being a father, traveling to Latin America, playing guitar, snowboarding and aviation. Tai's wife of 12 years and their three children live in a thriving co-housing community in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
