Born and raised in Evanston, Illinois, Karen attended the University of Illinois and was immediately thrown into sales in the Chicago Merchandise Mart. When the Chicago Apparel Center opened, she assisted in the opening of the first sales showroom, where she continued to work until moving to Santa Fe. She has been a Santa Fean for 31 years and has loved every minute living in the Land of Enchantment. Karen is widowed and blessed with a lovely daughter, Rachel, who recently received her MD and is looking forward to practicing in Santa Fe. Over the years Karen has been very involved in community service, including as Past Chairman of the Santa Fe Association of Realtors Community Service Committee, Board Member of Rio Grande School, Board Member of Santa Fe Preparatory School Athletic Booster Club and Committee Member for the St. Vincent's Hospital Foundation Spring Fundraiser. Karen has been licensed in real estate since 1987.

Karen's areas of expertise include residential properties and vacation homes within the city and county of Santa Fe, including luxury properties, the historic Eastside and Las Campanas.

Karen's mission, first and foremost, is to provide the best service possible. As the daughter of an architect, she is comfortable with assisting clients on design, floor plans and the building process. Her personal experience in renovating properties and building her own home has given her the ability to listen carefully and speak cogently, which she feels are essential in providing the best service.

When Karen moved to Santa Fe, she was here two days before she bought a home. She has traveled extensively, and every time she returns home, she is in awe of the beauty of the land and feels very special to be able to call this her home.

Karen advises clients to have an idea of what they are looking for, yet to be flexible. She believes that change can open the door to many opportunities that one might never have dreamed of.
