Chris Webster founded Christopher Webster Real Estate in 1976 on The Plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Chris, through his firm, subsequently became the exclusive affiliate for Sotheby's International Realty in New Mexico with offices in Santa Fe, Taos and Albuquerque, served on Sotheby's International Realty's advisory board for 15 years aiding growth and development nationally and internationally, and through his subsidiaries, held other exclusive affiliate relationships for the state of North Carolina, based in Research Triangle Park, and country of Mexico with offices in Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta and Mexico City. Sotheby's International Realty acquired Chris's Santa Fe firm in 1998 as its first acquisition of an affiliate company worldwide. A specialist in Santa Fe and northern New Mexico estate, ranch and commercial properties, as well as historic haciendas and coastal estates in Mexico and distinctive major properties in Hawaii and western Europe, Chris has represented and sold many of Sotheby's International Realty's most prestigious properties.
Additionally, Chris's extensive background in real estate includes appraisal, investment analysis, marketing, finance, development and consulting skills. Since 1982, Chris has produced Christopher Webster Reports, a semi-annual analysis of the Santa Fe real estate market, considered the preeminent study on the subject. In 2005, Chris became a managing partner of SYNTHESIS Realty Group (www.SynthesisRealty.com), a company coordinating and directing development, marketing and sales activities of the world's most prestigious residential and resort communities in its position as owners' rep/co-developer.
Chris has been a member of the local, state and national chapters of the National Association of Realtors since 1976, the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) since 1982, serving as the New Mexico president of the USA chapter since 1990, and the Urban Land Institute (ULI) since 2005, where he serves on the Recreational Development Council (RDC). Chris is a graduate of the Episcopal High School in Virginia and Duke University in North Carolina. Chris and his wife, Patti, are the parents of three children and, together with their son, Christopher III, work together at Sotheby's International Realty in Santa Fe.
