Santa Barbara housing market heats up during summer

Santa Barbara is sizzling this month, as The Weather Channel notes that August is typically the warmest in this city. However, that's far from the only reason why the metro is heating up.

In fact, Forbes recently ranked this metro number seven on its list of sizzling summer housing markets. The publication examined several factors in developing its list, including Santa Barbara's rapidly declining property inventory and relatively quick listing-to-sale of local homes.

Forbes reports that the city has seen its property prices increase by 33.1 percent over the last year, and many property sellers are taking advantage. Typically, rising home prices indicate that fewer properties could become available and home sellers could receive offers at or near their asking prices.

Beautiful beaches, a pristine coastline and spectacular luxury homes are just a few of the reasons why people might consider relocating to Santa Barbara. The city offers a wide selection of outdoor activities, including, for example, the Los Padres National Forest - a popular recreational spot for summer backpacking, camping and hiking.

Property buyers may want to start checking out homes in Santa Barbara, as numerous properties are still available.
