A native of Santa Barbara, Kevin grew up here involved with sports that he continues to enjoy today, including surfing, climbing, skiing and snowboarding. While attending UCSB, Kevin went to Europe to play on the professional tennis satellite circuit. He returned to UCSB and then studied abroad in Salzburg, Austria. Both of these events changed him greatly and led him to have one immediate major goal in his life, to travel around the world. After he graduated from UCSB, Kevin returned to Europe. He spent the next four years working abroad in Austria, Germany, Japan and New Zealand while traveling to over 50 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, South and Central America and the South Pacific.

Kevin returned to the U.S. and lived in Telluride, Colorado and Lake Tahoe, California before attending Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management, where he received his MBA. Upon graduating, he returned home to Santa Barbara, where he is now married to a wonderful Dutch woman, whom he met while doing an internship in the Netherlands. They have a son named Jan.
