George Lambert

George has been involved in the Santa Barbara real estate market since 2004, representing both buyers and sellers, with transactions ranging from Ventura, Santa Barbara, Goleta and the Santa Ynez Valley. Along with real estate sales, he has vast experience in finance, having spent many successful years as a mortgage loan officer working for banks and mortgage brokers. He also spent a year guiding real estate investors through the tricky exchange process as a 1031 Exchange Counselor.

Born in Ventura, about 30 miles south of Santa Barbara, George and his family moved up to the Bay Area when he was four. After graduating from Los Gatos High School, he attended the University of Arizona, where he was a walk-on with the Wildcats football team. With a bachelor's degree in psychology in hand, he decided to utilize his analytical skills in the business world and was hired at Wells Fargo Bank as a business banking officer. After four years at Wells Fargo, George decided to crunch the numbers on real estate finance and became a mortgage loan officer. Looking to expand his real estate background, he was offered a position as a 1031 Exchange Counselor assisting lawyers, CPAs and clients with the delicate process of the 1031 exchange. George relocated to the Santa Barbara area due to an illness in the family, and entrenched himself in Santa Barbara real estate market as an agent. He is extremely grateful to be a member of the Sotheby's International Realty team. George's vast real estate background coupled with his keen negotiating skills emphasizing honest and frequent communication is quite an asset to his clients.

When he isn't working diligently for his clients, George enjoys hitting the gym at least three times a week. He also enjoys trying to hit the golf ball on the well-manicured fairways. Music is also a passion, as he's been playing the drums since his freshman year in high school. George has played in award-winning bands, toured and is currently keeping the beat in two Santa Barbara based groups. He also gave screenwriting a shot and attended UCLA Extension's Screenwriting and Story Analysis program, where he earned his certificate.
