Born in Santa Barbara in 1950, I’ve seen a lot of changes in the town and in the real estate business. The elementary school I attended, Cathedral Oaks on Turnpike, is now The Wake Center for Continuing Education with a lot of emphasis on seniors, keeping pace with me. State St used to have 2 lanes going both ways plus parallel parking and when you went into a business downtown you were usually speaking to the owner. Today we have just 2 lanes on State St with those beautiful wide sidewalks and most of the home owned businesses are gone.

In 1978, having married the love of my life Laury we spent 22 great years in Los Angeles in the motion picture, television, record business and started transitioning into real estate in the 90s. In 2000 we came back to Santa Barbara and set up shop in Home Realty & Investments, Inc. and were there until 2014.

These days a lot of Real Estate has also gone from small locally owned businesses to large franchises with home offices back east but if you get to know the people that work in those big offices they’re a lot of the same folks that have been around here for years. My wife Laury and I moved to Sotheby’s International Realty bringing with us a love of the small town with experience and computer skills to help you find or market your property.
