Santa Barbara native Don Ford, who joined Sotheby's International Realty in 2001, has more than 20 years of luxury residential real estate experience. Prior to real estate, Don dazzled the crowds with his teamwork and competitive skills on the NBA court as a star player for more than eight years with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Two years in the Italian Professional League rounded out his professional basketball career. Now, Don combines these skills honed during his NBA years with his extensive personal knowledge of Santa Barbara area prices and home values to the decided benefit of his clients. Specializing in estate homes and income properties, Don has sold properties ranging from oceanfront homes to downtown office buildings and apartment complexes. An Academic All-American at the University of California at Santa Barbara, Don graduated cum laude and stays active with the university by acting as the expert commentator on both men's and women's basketball broadcasts. Don is a member of the board of directors of the National Basketball Retired Players Association West Coast Branch, and has been active with The United Boys Club.
