Own A Piece of History - Artists' Loft
There is simply no address quite like 9493 Lomita Drive. Built by the local community in 1938 as both a social hall and firehouse, this special property has been lovingly restored and re-imagined into a spectacular residence and art studio by the current owners. Three separate living spaces currently used as an art studio (could be bedrooms and living area), a wonderful open kitchen with bright color palette, gorgeous cabinetry and granite counters, powder and laundry rooms complete the lower level. Upstairs what once was the social hall has been transformed into an amazing living space. Architect Roberto Pacheco designed the space with a plan that kept the integrity of the open community center space while creating the intimacy necessary for family living. An island with bedroom, office and bath were created using Japanese shoji doors. Beamed ceilings, knotty pine panels, hardwood floors, beautiful wood and glass doors open to the spacious balcony that complete the upper residence.
