56th annual Monterey Jazz Festival to be held this September

As one of the regions most recognized for its integral role in musical history, the Golden State's Monterey Peninsula routinely provides individuals with exclusive opportunities to experience their favorite artists first hand in breathtaking venues. Whether at a chic downtown club, formal theater space or an expansive amphitheater, residents of this affluent California community can often be found taking in the picturesque sights and delightful sounds native to the area.

Upcoming event offers public access to high-end art
This month - just after Valentine's Day and President's Day celebrations conclude - individuals interested in enjoying the state's finer points will be given ample opportunity to do so, during the Wine, Art & Music Walk. Sponsored by the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce, this enriching, complimentary event will serve to entertain music aficionados from near and far while they view works of art at a number of local showrooms and taste a myriad of fine wines.

As just one of the many walks the coordinating organization sponsors each year, the occasion, which is occurring from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, promises to be an affair to remember. Attendees will be given the chance to explore many of the area's finest art venues along Central, Grand, Lighthouse and Forest avenues and experience all that the local galleries, musicians and winemakers have to offer.

Numerous studios, galleries to be open
This event will not only allow art enthusiasts to meet and mingle, but also provide exposure for musicians and wineries. At each of the featured stops on the walk, attendees will be treated to the sounds of area instrumentalists and singers, as well as tastings of wines from across the region and nation.

Participating art venues in this latest installment of the Pacific Grove Wine, Art & Walk include the Artisana Gallery, Butterfly, Crema, Glenn Gobel Custom Frames, Strouse and Strouse Studio Gallery, Sun Studios and Tessuti Zoo. According to Monterey County Weekly, Bana Home Decor and Gifts - the latest addition to the anticipated event - will also be a featured stop, and show the second installment of works by the respected artists Jo Mora.

Walking maps will be made available at all locations, and free admission will be granted to all who wish to attend. Those looking for additional information can learn more by calling the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce at 831-373-3304.

Integral art center to participate in festivities
Not only will a number of showrooms by accessible during the event, but the Pacific Grove Art Center - a local nonprofit committed to the appreciation and creation of art - will also be open. Founded in 1969, the organization has championed emerging and established artists, and has provided low cost classes, free exhibits and reduced rent for artists' studios. Today, the space boasts four exhibition galleries, which host a litany of exhibits focused on a variety of art forms, including painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media and fabric arts, among others.

Following the conclusion of the upcoming event, the next Wine, Art & Music Walk to be held within the greater Monterey area will take place on the evening of Friday, April 11. As the weather continues to improve further and the seasons change, the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce will look to hold subsequent walks on May 30, July 18, Sept. 5 and Oct. 24. As one of the area's most beloved seasonal traditions, many familiar faces will likely continue to populate the growing crowds of oenophiles, amateur artists and music enthusiasts.
