Shawn Quinn’s passion for “all things real estate” led him to the industry in 1984. Thanks to his work as a real estate loan officer and the owner and broker of a local mortgage company, he can apply his experience in originating and underwriting mortgage loans to help buyers select financing options and work with their lenders. In 2008, during the depths of the market downturn, Shawn formed QRE Group, a real estate brokerage and investment firm that specialized in the purchase, renovation and resale of bank-owned and distressed properties. He subsequently joined Sotheby’s International Realty and now finds great satisfaction helping sellers properly prepare their homes for the market and buyers find their dream homes.

Another of his passions is envisioning and planning improvements for properties that are dated, distressed or have suffered deferred maintenance. Shawn calls upon his 28 years’ experience in real estate to provide insight and information to his clients “to reduce or eliminate their fear of the unknown.” His forte is walking clients through difficult scenarios by explaining the complexities of buying and selling property in basic, simple steps. He also specializes in properties held in trusts, estates and probate. Shawn has experience with long-term and vacation rentals, renovating and selling “fixer-upper” projects and participating in 1031 tax-deferred exchanges.

Shawn earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and business at Westmont College, Santa Barbara, and Masters of Business Administration degree at Golden State University, San Francisco. He is a Certified Probate Real Estate Specialist, Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and member of the Northern California Chapter of the Council of Residential Specialists. He is a member of the Monterey Rotary Club, past president of Monterey Bay Chapter of California Association of Mortgage Brokers (CAMB), former CAMB (now CAMP) state director, past president of the Realtor® Toastmasters Club and past president of The Pacheco Club. He lives in Pacific Grove with his son.
