Doug began his real estate career in the suburbs of Chicago in 1971. Obtaining his Illinois broker's license, he was not only a very successful agent but managed and opened several offices for his company. He earned his GRI (Graduate Realtors Institute), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) and later his CRB (Certified Real Estate Brokerage) designations. In 1980, Doug was selected to assist in the start-up of one of today's largest real estate franchises, where he served as Regional Director in three of its regions, Chicago, Atlanta and Newport Beach.

In 1988, he relocated to Fresno and started a real estate magazine, the Real Estate Book. Within a year, he was producing a weekly real estate TV show. In 1992, Doug sold his magazine and joined one of his national competitors training publishers on starting real estate magazines. In 1997, he got his California real estate license and joined London Properties. He then earned his ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) designation.

It was in Fresno that Doug met the love of his life, his wife, Annette. Having a 2nd home in Carmel they came over to enjoy it as often as possible. Fulfilling a lifelong dream, they moved to Carmel full time in 1998, and Doug joined a small local real estate firm. Seeing the need to expand the quality services to his customers and clients, he joined the very professional and successful team at The Mitchell Group, now Sotheby's International Realty.

With the strength of The Mitchell Group and the dedication to his clients' needs and desires, Doug is ready, willing and able to provide the professional service expected in today's complicated real estate environment.

Doug's affiliations include Monterey History & Art, Historic Garden League, Friends of the Monterey Symphony, Carmel Foundation, the local Bridge chapter and local chapter of the AIWF (American Institute of Wine & Food), member of The Beach & Tennis Club at Pebble Beach, and Volunteer Marshal at the AT&T Pro-Am and First Tee events.
