The Lightfoots were both born and raised in Long Island, New York, and moved to Los Angeles in 1978. Joseph got his contracting license in 1983 and worked as both a general contractor and project manager on residential and commercial projects. Joseph's hands-on experience gives him a real advantage in understanding the nuts and bolts of homes.

Joanne became a licensed real estate salesperson in 1983. Living in Echo Park, and later Silver Lake, she has worked with buyers and sellers, emphasizing her problem solving skills and intimate knowledge of the neighborhood. In 1998, Joseph obtained his real estate license and partnered with Joanne. Together, they have built a substantial business in Silver Lake, Echo Park, Los Feliz, Eagle Rock, Atwater, Hollywood Hills East and Glassell Park.

The Lightfoots are well known by their clients and throughout the brokerage community for their reputation for having a real desire to help others achieve their goals. They truly respect their clients and do the best to discern and meet their needs. Their neighbors also know them to be active members within their community through volunteer work, organizing and donating to local schools and charities.

They are also active advocates for local schools. Joseph founded the Mayberry Elementary School Parent Teacher Association and was chair for three years. He also served as President of the Mayberry School Site Council for five years, and has been a member of the School Site Council of Marshall High School and member of the LA Parent's Union. Joseph has spent extensive time as a leader in Los Angeles Scouting and in his son's Scouting group, and volunteered with 826LA for in-school tutoring at local high schools. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Wild Woods Foundation.

Joseph and Joanne's extensive real estate experience, combined with their community involvement over the last 30 years, has afforded them valuable insight into the local market. Having witnessed the ups and downs of the housing market over the years, the Lightfoots are well-prepared and able to determine the most effective strategy for each buyer and seller when it comes time to buy or sell.
