Originally from the Bay Area of Northern California, John’s family has been in the real estate, construction, and mortgage business for several generations, giving John a unique and intimate perspective on the business and its evolution. John spent four years, prior to joining Sotheby’s International Realty, specializing in small-cap residential income property at another firm and became one of the top 10 agents in the office his second year in the business. Prior to practicing real estate full-time, John spent ten years in the technology and consulting business, working for both Microsoft and The Walt Disney Company. During this time John had the opportunity to travel widely, including being based for a year and a half in Paris, France and attaining legal residency in Australia. Over the years, John gained a self-taught expertise in sales and marketing systems, designing several software systems and working with award-winning teams in the process. The last technology project that John managed was the ‘Y2K Project’ for all of Disney’s Internet companies worldwide. John continues to have a long-lasting, inquisitive relationship with technology, with a particular fascination for its effects on humanity. Since moving to Los Angeles, John has enjoyed successfully investing in, refurbishing and managing rental property in the area. He continues to get extraordinary satisfaction in finding value in investment and homes for clients. The experience of having lived abroad has given John a continuing passion for the study of different cultures. John is an ardent student of history, leadership and the human endeavor. He is a member of the World Affairs Council, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, LA Conservancy, as well as the local, state and national Association of Realtors.
