Alan Legittino

As Brokerage Manager of Sotheby's International Realty's prestigious Sunset Strip office in West Hollywood, California, Alan leads a diverse team of over 70 hand-picked real estate professionals, representing discriminating buyers and sellers throughout the Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Hollywood and Hollywood Hills areas of Los Angeles. The properties purchased and sold through Alan's office range from condominiums and income properties to spectacular homes and world-class estates.

Respected by his colleagues for his problem solving and leadership skills, Alan possesses the singular ability to empower agents and create a collaborative, cooperative team. Continuously stressing the importance of building and maintaining client relationships, he provides agents with the market knowledge, technology and resources they require to effectively meet their clients' needs.

In 1984, Alan became a founding partner of the real estate firm Dalton, Brown & Long. Subsequently assuming sole ownership of the company, he changed its name to DBL Realty, expanded its reach to include 11 offices throughout Southern California and sold the brokerage to Sotheby's International Realty in 2004. Along the way, he has served as president of the Beverly Hills Greater Los Angeles Board of Realtors and as a director of the California Association of Realtors and National Association of Realtors.

Originally from Chicago, Alan earned degrees in chemistry and American literature from Loyola University before a Southern California vacation changed his career path. While reading poolside, he met the owner of an established local real estate company who was so impressed by Alan's attitude, charisma and salesmanship that he offered him an opportunity to sell real estate on Los Angeles's Westside.

Today, in addition to his corporate responsibilities, Alan is passionate about promoting better education in the inner city, and about assisting challenged members of the Los Angeles community in finding dignified employment. He serves as a board member of Education Advantage Foundation and of Chrysalis.

Alan resides on a ranch in Malibu with a variety of animals and enjoys spending time hiking and backpacking in pristine and often remote areas of the world.
